Programme Management Group

The Management Group is Chaired by the ESRC Director of Research, or his nominee. All participating Research Councils and core funders are represented on the Management Group. Taking advice from the Strategic Advisory Committee, the Management Group will:

  1. Manage the combined resources of the Programme in a manner such that those applying should as far as possible see this Programme as a single entity.
  2. Manage the Programme through a shared administrative resource and reliance on the administrative capacities of all the partner Councils.
  3. Oversee and manage the Programme budget, which all partner Councils have agreed will include at least the budgets allocated to them for this activity within SR2002.
  4. Agree the detailed methods of implementation of the Programme, including arrangements for making awards through the partner Councils
  5. Finalise the membership of panel(s) for the assessment of proposals.
  6. The Management Group will prepare options for consideration by the SAC, relevant to the SAC terms of reference.
  7. The Management Group will report formally at least once a year, through the Chair, to the Chief Executives of ESRC , BBSRC and NERC . The Chief Executive of the ESRC , as lead Council, will be responsible for reporting to RCUK .
